Daily Media Briefing June 7, 2016

(Millersville, MD) For the 24 hour period beginning at midnight on Monday, June 6th the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to 247 incidents (daily average is 220).

Incidents of Media Interest Monday, June 6th:

Assault                                                            Brooklyn Park

One person was transported to Shock Trauma following an assault in Brooklyn Park Monday night. Just after 10:00 p.m. firefighters responded to the 200 block of Hillside Terrace for a reported stabbing. A 23-year-old male with a possible stab wound was transported by paramedics to Shock Trauma with serious but not believed life-threatening injuries.

Fatal Bicyclist Struck                                    Glen Burnie


A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a garbage truck Monday morning in Glen Burnie. Just before 7:25 a.m. firefighters responded to the area of Central Avenue and Oak Lane Southwest for an auto accident involving a bicycle. Arriving firefighters found an adult female bicyclist who had been struck by a garbage truck. The 60-year-old female was declared deceased at the scene. There were no other injuries.
