Daily Media Briefing June 9, 2016

(Millersville, MD) For the 24 hour period beginning at midnight on Wednesday, June 8th, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to 256 incidents (daily average is 220).

Incidents of Media Interest Wednesday, June 8th:

Injured Person                                                          Arnold

A 68-year-old male was transported to Shock Trauma Wednesday morning after being struck by a falling tree limb. Just before 11:30 a.m. firefighters responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Gilbert Road. Arriving firefighters found a patient who had been cutting his grass on a riding mower when a tree limb fell and struck him, knocking him off the mower. He was transported by paramedics to Shock Trauma with serious but not believed life-threatening injuries.

One patient was transported to the Trauma Center at Prince George’s Hospital Center after being kicked in the head by a horse Wednesday afternoon. Just before 3:30 p.m. firefighters responded to the area of Hawthorne Farms Road and Lankford Road for a report of an injured person. Firefighters found a 53-year-old female patient who had been kicked in the head by a horse which had been startled. Paramedics transported her to P.G. Trauma with injuries that were serious but not believed life threatening.
